I did it. I signed up for Camp NaNo. My writing has been sluggish since losing my grandmother this month, and it’s my hope that by signing up for Camp NaNo I will be more focused and able to meet my word count goals. I have a story to work on, tentatively titled Battered Not Broken (but I’m also considering Becoming Wren Somers).
Unlike NaNoWriMo, I’m not aiming for 50,000 words. I set a more modest goal of 20,000. As slowly as I’ve been writing lately, I tried to come up with a goal I might actually meet. And since I already have a 4,000 word start on this story, there’s a chance I’ll be at least halfway through, if not more so, by the time Camp NaNo is over. Who knows…maybe I’ll be inspired and finish the book by the end of April. Wouldn’t that be awesome?
I’m not entirely certain what I’m doing with Battered Not Broken when it’s finished. Evernight Teen has been wonderful to me, and The Boyfriend Deal seems to be doing really well with them. The story will tell me where it belongs when it’s finished. At least, that’s what happened with The Boyfriend Deal. <grin>
This is in no way an official cover for the story, but Camp NaNo suggests uploading a cover…so I made one (and now you can see why I’m not a cover artist):
Hi, nice post. Sorry for your loss. This inspires me to sign up for camp nanowrimo. I have never done. Good luck!

Thank you. This is my first time doing Camp NaNo. I did the November NaNoWriMo though and had fun.
