I’ve signed up for my first Nanowrimo, during which time I plan to write my first contemporary YA – The Boyfriend Deal. I’m really excited and hope Nano will help me stay on track. I doubt there are any write-ins around my area. I’ve heard there are some about an hour away, but I don’t know that I’m up for driving that far.
Have you ever done Nano before? Did you enjoy the experience?
I have to admit, I’m a little nervous I won’t be able to complete 50k in a month’s time. I can’t plot to save my life, so if my characters don’t speak to me, I have no clue in which direction to take the story. It’s not that I haven’t tried plotting, but about 2000 words in I always deviate from the plot and the story turns out completely different than I had originally planned. Not that there’s anything wrong with that. I’m just as pleased with my end results, even though it took a longer route to get there.
Do you plot? Or do you write by the seat of your pants?
Want to buddy up for NaNo? You’re more than welcome to add me! 🙂
